In my artwork, I use vibrant colors with abstract geometric shapes infused with plants and animals. My process begins with simple sketches, which I use as reference to build my work. My life as an artist has been shaped by two passions: graphic design and the exploration of painting, .Growing up in a multicultural household I was influenced by Mexico's culture traveling as a child to visit family throughout the years. Working primarily with gouache, watercolor and oil paint I create complex shapes inspired by patterns seen in nature and create organic objects that become part of a large complex structure.
My work I use a variety of materials and processes in each project and I focus strongly on concept design and development in many different contexts and media. Using Illustrator I also create conceptual designs primarily to communicate a message to the viewer and bring awareness to current issues that we are facing such as habitat loss and critically endangered animals. My goal is to inspire those who see my work to look more carefully at the world around them and to create pieces which have a deeper meaning and message for the audience.
